An eastern Iowa farmer says he’s looking forward to representing corn growers on the Iowa Corn Promotion Board after being elected to the position.

Lance Lillibridge of Vinton says the board helps oversee the investment of funds generated by the Iowa corn checkoff.

“The promotion board works heavily on new (corn) uses, trade, and domestic usage like ethanol.”

He tells Brownfield one of his priorities is finding ways to address rising input costs.

“We need to keep corn farmers profitable and so we can look at how we can drive down some of these input costs,” Lillibridge said. “That would be of much benefit to the corn farmer. We need to figure things out there.”

Lillibridge, who is also a past president of the Iowa Corn Growers Association, says the promotion board also needs to keep its close relationship with the US Meat Export Federation.

Corn farmers elected to the Iowa Corn Promotion Board include:

District 1: Gina White

District 3: Jason Orr

District 6: Lance Lillibridge

District 8: Blake Reynolds

Iowa Corn also announced election results for the ICGA Board of Directors:

District 3: Ted Hamer

District 4: Laura Foell

District 9: Paula Ellis

Iowa Corn says all elected directors will begin serving their districts on September 1st.
