Commercial Learner Permit and CDL testers in Jefferson County should be aware of a change to audio equipment policy effective Friday, August 7th, according to a social media post from the Jefferson County Treasurer’s Office.

The Jefferson County Treasurer’s Office is participating in a pilot program with the Iowa Department of Transportation, funded through a federal grant, in which earbuds will now be provided to testers during CLP and CDL testing to enhance the integrity of the testing process. As of August 7th, over-the-ear headsets will no longer be permitted for audio during testing. Earbuds will be provided at no cost and testers may keep them for future use. Note that audio during testing is optional.
