Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host a Farmland Leasing Arrangements Workshop on Wednesday, August 19th at the Douds Community Center, located at 14159 Route V64 in Douds, designed to help both landowners and tenants build stronger lease agreements and improve communication.
A meal will be served at 5:30 p.m., with the program beginning at 6:00 p.m. The workshop will be presented by Paul Martin, Farm Management Specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
Topics covered will include current farmland rental trends, market outlook, succession planning considerations, and methods for calculating fair cash rents in today’s economic environment. Participants will also gain practical insights into how farm estate and succession plans can affect leasing decisions and learn strategies for fostering productive landlord-tenant relationships. Each registrant will receive a copy of the newest Farmland Leasing Arrangements handbook.
