Amy Jo Northrup, 55, of Ottumwa died at 3:52 p.m. August 21, 2026 at Mississippi Valley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Keokuk, IA.
She was born October 28, 1970 in Ottumwa to Dick and Becky Bisom Northrup.
A 1989 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Amy had worked for Steamboat Restaurant, Ottumwa Courier and Geico.
She enjoyed collecting plants and crystals and most of all, spending time with her family.
Surviving is her son, Dylan Northrup; her mother, Becky Long; a brother, Rodney Long Jr.; a niece, Christie Northrup (Marc); a nephew, Keaton Long (Taylor); a great niece, Delilah; a great nephew, Bentley Long; her 2 best friends who were like sisters, Stacy Long and Tawna Kerr; and her dog, Max.
She was preceded in death by her father; her stepdad, who helped raise her, Rodney Long Sr.; and her grandparents.
Her body has been cremated. A time to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family or Muscular Dystrophy Association.
