Police say an Ottumwa man entered an apartment on Tuesday without permission and stole items from the home.
Dannyen Joshua, 20, was charged with second-degree burglary, a Class C felony.
On June 30th at 12:45 PM, court records say Joshua went into an apartment on East Division Street in Ottumwa with a female occupant present. Joshua then allegedly took a pair of reading glasses and a large, split-bladed knife and sat on a couch.
The alleged intruder left the apartment after the woman began recording him on her cell phone.
Police say Joshua had the stolen items in his possession when he was arrested.
Joshua was transported to the Wapello County Jail, where he is being held without bond pending a hearing with a magistrate judge.
