Linda Lynn Underwood, aged 77, of Moravia, Iowa, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, quietly passed away on July 2, 2026. Born on January 18, 1949, in Iowa, Linda was a supportive, loving, and reliable figure in the lives of all who knew her.
Linda was born to Everett Garry Stapp and Josphine Beatrice Stapp in 1949. September 2nd of 1967, she married Dennis Underwood. Unto this union were born three children, Teresa Rowley (Harold), Troy Underwood (Jackie), and Toby Underwood.
As a widow, she imbued the essence of resilience and strength, always offering a comforting presence to those around her. Linda’s love for cooking was well-known, her exceptional culinary skills making every family gathering something to look forward to. Her home in Moravia, always filled with delicious aromas, was a testament to her love for her family and her passion for creating joy through food.
Beyond her dedication to her work and her family, Linda had a soft spot for her dog Sadie and enjoyed the thrill of playing slot machines. Most significantly, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren, providing them with not just love but also the wisdom of her experiences.
She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Jo Harbison and Judith Ross; her children, Teresa and Harold Rowley, Troy and Jackie Underwood, and Toby Underwood; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Everett Garry Stapp and Josephine Beatrice Stapp; her husband, Dennis Keith Underwood; her sisters, Mamie Spears, Darlene Johnson, Joan Matthews, and Janet Culbertson; her brothers, Everett, Robert, Dwayne “Mick”, Samuel, Kirk, and Larry Stapp.
