Betty J. Heckart, 94, of Mustang, OK, formerly of Ottumwa, died July 27, 2026 in Mustang, OK.
She was born March 4, 1932 in Turkey Scratch (Eldon) to George Jacob and Rose Stribling Cloke. She married Floyd H. “Flip” Heckart October 9, 1980 and he preceded her in death January 13, 2008.
Betty worked several jobs over the years including Everco, Red Lyon Inn and Tom and Roseanne’s Diner in Eldon.
Surviving are her children, Michael (Sandie) Thomas of Ottumwa, Denise (Richard) Ritz of Mustang, OK and Sue Johnson of Durant, OK; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Charlie Cloke of Leon; and a sister, Mary DeGroot of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tom Thomas; daughter, Cheryl Janney; step-sons, Ron Heckart and Kent Heckart; son-in-law, Chuck Johnson; brothers, Gary Cloke, Ronald Cloke, Frank Cloke, Kenneth Cloke and Othal Cloke; and sister, Lillian Brown.
Her body has been cremated. Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, August 14th at Reece Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery.
