The Iowa Department of Corrections is asking for the public’s help in locating a work release inmate who failed to return to the Fort Des Moines Work Release Facility as required.
Officials say 60-year-old Eric Tyrone Daugherty Sr. did not return to the facility on June 6. Daugherty is serving a sentence connected to a second-degree robbery conviction in Polk County and also has prior convictions for harassment, stalking, and domestic abuse.
Daugherty is described as a Black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing approximately 199 pounds. He entered the work release program in October 2025.
Anyone with information about Daugherty’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact local law enforcement or the Iowa Department of Corrections.
The state’s work release program allows eligible offenders to work and participate in approved activities while serving the remainder of their sentences under supervision.
