Roy Laverne Hoskins, 91, of Ottumwa died June 14, 2026 at The Haven in Ottumwa.
He was born August 21, 1934 in Mystic to Thomas and Eveline Coats Hoskins. He married Joan Kay Roggentien on June 8, 1958 and she preceded him in death on November 13, 2023.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer. Roy owned and operated Joe’s Radiator Shop.
He loved hunting, fishing and spending time in his garden. Roy especially loved traveling with his wife and vacationing in the south during the winter.
Surviving is his daughters, Cherie Cobler of Columbia, MO and Linda (Mark) Nahra of Sioux City; 5 grandchildren, Carri (Jared) Allen, Wendy (Jay) Rambolt, Josh (Delaiah Harris) Cobler, Samantha (Philip) Nahra-Zion and Danielle Nahra; 2 great grandchildren, Aris Cobler and Dieago Cobler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a great grandson, Zachary Allen; 2 sisters, Doris Hockensmith and Wilma Haney; and 3 brothers, Albert Hoskins, Montell Hoskins and Wilbur Hoskins.
Visitation with his family present to greet friends will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday June 19th at Reece Funeral Home.
Graveside services and burial will be 1 p.m. Friday June 19th at Memorial Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Military honors will be conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
