A verbal argument between an Ottumwa man and a woman reportedly turned physical, leading to a domestic abuse assault charge and the man’s arrest.
The Ottumwa Police Department responded to a domestic abuse assault report in the 300 block of West 5th Street at approximately 8:20 a.m. on June 20.
According to a criminal complaint, 28-year-old Merson Aisek of Ottumwa and the victim were involved in a verbal dispute. Court documents state that Aisek allegedly locked the victim out of the residence before later throwing a metal scooter at her.
