Authorities are investigating an officer-related shooting that occurred in Ottumwa on Wednesday.
Law enforcement had the intersection of North Green Street and Gara Street blocked off, and officials from the Ottumwa Police Department and Wapello County Sheriff’s Office were present at the scene.
Assistant Director Don Schnitker of the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation says the DCI is assisting in the investigation, and no officer was injured. Schnitker added that the incident is contained and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The shooting remains under investigation, and no additional information was released.
