The Jefferson County Fair runs June 22nd through 29th, and the Jefferson County Farm Bureau is gearing up for one of its most anticipated annual traditions — Farm Bureau Day, set for Friday, June 26th at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
Farm Bureau Day will run from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the booth located near the Cambridge Building. The day is designed to celebrate and thank Farm Bureau members for their continued support of local agriculture.
Current Farm Bureau members will receive two Farm Bureau t-shirts and a $10 food voucher, redeemable at the FFA booth or during breakfast at the Cambridge Building food stand. Members are encouraged to bring their postcard to redeem their items, though those who forget it will still be able to claim them. The account holder or spouse must be present, and board members will be available to verify memberships. All appreciation items are available while supplies last and cannot be reserved in advance, so early visits to the booth are encouraged.
Visitors can also enter a BBQ-themed giveaway at the booth. Non-members are welcome to join Farm Bureau at the fair for $45 and will receive the same appreciation items as current members, plus three giveaway entries — compared to one entry for existing members.
Farm Bureau Day also features two family-friendly events. The Ohana Pedal Pull will take place in the Show Arena, with registration beginning at 5:30 p.m. and competition starting at 6:00 p.m. All participants will receive a t-shirt while supplies last.
The Kiddie Treasure Hunt is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on the Midway, with more than $400 in coins scattered for children to find thanks to contributions from local financial institutions. Sponsors include Pilot Grove Savings Bank ($50), Libertyville Savings Bank ($50), Iowa State Bank and Trust Co. ($25), MidWestOne Bank ($100), Community 1st Credit Union ($50), Edward Jones — Joe Stever ($30), Farm Credit Services of America ($25), Washington State Bank ($30), and Farm Bureau Financial Services — Alex Kessel ($40).
