The 25th Annual Declaration of Independence Celebration is a family event with music, children’s activities, food and the reading of the Declaration of Independence. This starts off the celebration week of the 4th of July, commemorating the 250th Anniversary of the birth of our nation.
Special Guest speakers.
The Declaration of Independence will be read by 13 different people representing the 13 British North American colonies to proclaim their independence from Great Britain. The Declaration was adopted on July 4, 1776. This document transformed the colonists’ struggle with Great Britain from a defense of their rights to a revolution.
The event will start at 5:45 PM with food and Children Activities. At 6:30 PM the program will begin with Patriotic Vocal Music, and reading and signing of the Declaration of Independence.
We will have a display of all 27 official US flags. Receive a copy of the Declaration of Independence.
Many have not heard the Declaration of Independence since school. This is the document that formed our nation.
Everyone is welcome to celebrate. A Free will offering will be accepted.
Hosted by the Wapello County Republican Party.
