Mark Leroy Danner, age 46, of Blakesburg, IA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 18, 2026, at his home.
Mark was born on December 14, 1979, at the Pella Hospital to Duke and Deb (Snook) Danner. He grew up in Blakesburg, attending school in Blakesburg and later in Eddyville, graduating with the Class of 1998. Mark then attended Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa where he took welding courses as well as obtained his CDL. On June 9, 2006, he was united in marriage to Miranda Rowe at their home in Cedar, IA.
Mark proudly served his country in the National Guard. He began his working career driving an asphalt truck for Norris Asphalt Company before becoming a diesel mechanic for Allen Trucking.
Mark enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle which he fondly referred to as “wind therapy” and also enjoyed tattoos or “ink therapy.” He was an extremely talented mechanic and diesel mechanic who could fix anything. He was also a talented woodworker. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Mark was affectionately referred to as “Hoss” and gave each of his loved ones a nickname of their own. He had a great sense of humor along with a generous heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. Above all else, he cherished his family. He was the steady center of their lives who everyone turned to.
Mark is survived by his wife, Miranda; 2 sons, Michael (Paige “Bug”) Danner and Landon Danner; a daughter; 2 grandsons, Maverick and Austin and 1 on the way; his mother, Deb Briggs; siblings, Monica “Tank” Danner, Corey (Carmen) Danner, Stacey Danner, and Travis (Stacia) Danner; a half-sister, Teri; a brother-in-law, Travis Rowe; and his best friends/partners-in-crime, Jason Eaton and Dustin Deevers. Mark is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Duke Danner; his dad, Roy Briggs; his father-in-law, Michael Rowe; his grandparents; a nephew, Matthew; and a cousin, Shannon Durbin.
