Kevin Shaun Mach, 72, of Birmingham, Iowa, formerly of Woodbine, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Van Buren County Hospital under hospice care.

A proud United States Navy veteran, Kevin was born on August 28, 1953, to Lyle Joseph Mach and Elizabeth (Waldrep) Mach. During his military service, he served in specialized technical roles involving watch and clock repair, metrology, and mechanical standards calibration—work that reflected the precision and attention to detail that would define much of his life. Following his service to his country, Kevin built a career with Lockheed Martin, where his meticulous nature, strong work ethic, and determination served him well. Kevin will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a man of precision and conviction—meticulous in his work, strong-willed by nature, and never afraid to do things his own way. Those who knew him best understood that his stubborn streak was simply part of the determination that made him who he was. Outside of work, Kevin had a lifelong passion for motorcycles, automobiles, and anything mechanical. He loved riding motorcycles, working on cars and trucks, and building model kits, bringing patience, craftsmanship, and pride to everything he touched.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle Joseph Mach and Elizabeth (Waldrep) Mach, and by his wife, Norma Lynn (Carnes) Mach. He is survived by his children, Joseph Mach (Nancy), Timothy Mach (Angie), Erin Byron (Devon), and Maranda Chiasson; his grandchildren, Brooke Woods (Matthew), Logan Mach (Amanda), Tifany Mach, David Mach, Aria Byron, and Brooklyn Mach; his great-grandchildren, Kloe and Karson Woods; and his brother, Christopher Mach. Kevin will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his dedication, craftsmanship, unwavering spirit, and the love he held for his family.
