Gerald Dean Landtiser, 98, of Ottumwa died at 5:00 a.m. March 11, 2026 at Good Samaritan Society – Ottumwa.
He was born December 22, 1927 in Livonia, MO to Birney and Avis Seryice Snediger Landtiser. Gerald married Martha Jane Holman May 17, 1953 and she preceded him in death August 16, 2011.
A resident of Ottumwa most of his life, Gerald served in the US Army. He worked 36 years for John Morrell & Company, 30 years in Ottumwa and 6 years in Sioux Falls, SD, retiring in 1979. Gerald also farmed for Charles McBeth and worked in storage for Harry Burdock.
Surviving is his daughter, Susan (Mel) Junge of Montezuma; 6 grandchildren; a great grandson; a brother Geary Landtiser.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lori Byrum; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.
His body has been cremated. Graveside services and inurnment will be 11 a.m. Friday May 22nd at Ottumwa Cemetery with military honors conducted by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
