Richard Parker, 95, of Oskaloosa, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026, at his home in Oskaloosa.


Richard Willis Parker, son of Harold and Alice (Lounsbury) Parker, was born on December 25, 1930, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He attended Oskaloosa schools and was a 1948 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on January 2, 1951, and served until December 20, 1954. Of the three years he spent in the service, he was stationed in Japan for almost 2 1/5 years. Richard then enrolled at Iowa State University. He later returned to Oskaloosa and began his career in concrete construction with his brother, John. On August 4, 1957, Richard married Marie Jeannette Floor at the Central United Methodist Church in Oskaloosa. They made their home in Oskaloosa.
Richard’s family includes his wife, Marie; a son, Craig (Kathy) Parker of Scottsdale, AZ; a grandson, Joel Parker; a brother, John (Sandra) Parker of Oskaloosa; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Parker of Illinois.


Richard was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Karen, a brother, Bill, and a sister, Nancy Frodge.


In accordance with Richard’s wishes, his remains have been cremated. A private burial will be held at Old White Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Langkamp Funeral Chapel and Crematory has been entrusted with his arrangements. Memorials can be made to the UnityPoint Hospice of Grinnell.
