Marcine Aletha Coltrain, 86, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 11:09 p.m. April 5, 2026 at Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
She was born October 16, 1939 in Ottumwa to Rex Harold and Laura May Cornell McElroy. Marcine married Donald Coltrain on February 15, 1959 and he preceded her in death on March 7, 1992.
A 1957 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Marcine graduated from Ottumwa Beauty Academy. She was a baker for 35 years, working at Morrow, was manager of Econofoods bakery, worked at south HyVee and managed Econofoods in Fairfield.
Surviving are her daughters, Robin Kephart of Oskaloosa and Peni (Albert) Davis of Bloomfield; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Mike (Linda) McElroy of Muscatine and Cathy (Jerry) Penniston of Waukee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Rhonda Johnson; and siblings, Cheryl McElroy, Ronald, Harold, Bernie and Dale McElroy; and her companion, Bill Carruthers.
Her body has been cremated and no services are planned. Inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
