The Jefferson County Trails Council is inviting community members of all ages to lace up their shoes and hit the trails for the 12th Annual Scavenger Hunt, running from April 25th through July 3rd, according to a press release.
This year’s theme is “Service Organizations of Fairfield,” with clues relating to Fairfield area service organizations found along the trails and city park system. Participants will collect clues at 10 locations throughout the Jefferson County Trails system for a chance to be entered in a drawing for prizes from local businesses. Drawings will take place on the evening of July 3rd during Fairfield First Fridays.
New this year, the Jefferson County Trails Council is partnering with the Fairfield Rotary Club to integrate the Scavenger Hunt with the Fairfield Spring Festival on May 2nd. A special clue hidden along the trail can be redeemed for free tickets to the festival.
Scavenger hunt punch cards can be picked up at The Ride: Bike Sales and Service at 123 North Court Street, trailhead kiosks throughout the trail system, the Fairfield Recreation Center, and the MUM Recreation Center. Completed punch cards must be returned to The Ride: Bike Sales and Service or mailed to the Jefferson County Trails Council at P.O. Box 2375, Fairfield, IA 52556 by 5:00 p.m. on July 3rd.
