The Fairfield boys track and field team competed Thursday, April 16th at the 2026 Denny White Relays at Mount Pleasant, finishing ninth in the team standings in a competitive 17-team field. Several girls teams also competed at the meet, with Mount Pleasant winning the girls title with 160 points and Fort Madison and Mediapolis tied for second with 89 points each.
Mediapolis won the boys team title with 88.3 points, followed by Keokuk with 87, Washington with 74, Fort Madison with 68.3, Mount Pleasant with 61, WACO with 54, New London with 53, West Burlington with 51, Fairfield with 47, Winfield-Mt. Union and Louisa-Muscatine tied with 31, Danville with 29, Central Lee with 28.5, Cardinal and Wapello tied with 11, Clear Creek-Amana with 8.5, and Iowa City Liberty with 5.3.
Fairfield claimed two individual event victories on the night. Eli Zillman won the high jump with a season-best clearance of 6-08, and Spencer McCready won the long jump with a leap of 21-04.
Ryan Bair of Keokuk won the 100-meter dash in 10.99, with Jaxon Coleman placing 22nd for Fairfield in 12.63 and Aiden Mizelle 25th in 13.05. In the 200-meter dash, Travarius Smith of Keokuk won in 22.70, with Aiden Holthus placing 19th for Fairfield in 25.82. Tucker Robertson placed sixth in the 400-meter dash in 56.91 and Angel Quimby 21st in 1:06.05 behind winner Sawyer Tschantz of Washington at 53.33.
Blake Burnett placed seventh in the 110-meter hurdles in 17.28 and Sawyer McCready 18th in 19.65 behind winner Cruz Hagmeier of Winfield-Mt. Union at 15.59. Elijah Hamilton placed ninth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:02.75 and Maddox Rebling 19th in 1:07.21 behind winner Logan Hamma of West Burlington at 56.64. The shuttle hurdle relay team of Brady Wigle, Jacob Crew, Tucker Robertson, and Sawyer McCready placed sixth in 1:12.36 behind winner Winfield-Mt. Union at 1:03.52.
Parker Reid placed 12th in the 800-meter run in 2:16.53 and Brock Atwood 17th in 2:22.01 behind winner Nolan Guzman of Fort Madison at 1:58.88. River Fulton placed 15th in the 1,600-meter run in 5:17.48 behind winner Andrew Rees of Washington at 4:32.04. Jordan Miller placed 13th in the 3,200-meter run in 13:01.56 behind winner Simon Wendel of Mediapolis at 9:55.10.
The 4×200 group of Eli Hoffman, Voss Richardson, Dayson Workman, and Ethan Bisgard placed third in 1:31.51 behind a new meet record set by Keokuk at 1:28.77 — Danville’s second-place 1:29.63 also beat the previous record. The 4×100 unit of Dayson Workman, Voss Richardson, Tucker Robertson, and Blake Burnett placed seventh in 45.03 behind winner Keokuk at 42.77. The 4×400 crew of Spencer McCready, Eli Hoffman, Ethan Bisgard, and John Miller placed fourth in 3:39.36 behind a new meet record set by Mediapolis at 3:25.31. The 4×800 team of Parker Reid, River Fulton, Brice Boatright, and John Miller placed fourth in 8:45.12 behind winner Washington at 8:10.73. The sprint medley squad of Grant Bisgard, Jaxon Coleman, Aiden Holthus, and Maddox Rebling placed 11th in 1:47.91 behind a new meet record set by Keokuk at 1:32.98, with Danville’s second-place 1:36.58 also surpassing the previous record. The distance medley team of Grant Bisgard, Aiden Holthus, Sam Nelson, and Clae Cass placed eighth in 4:08.92 behind a new meet record set by Mediapolis at 3:35.68.
Blake Burnett placed 11th in the high jump at 5-08. Eli Hoffman placed 14th in the long jump at 17-10.75. Greyson Hartman of Washington dominated the throwing events, setting new meet records in both the shot put at 64-01 and the discus at 182-11. William Bryant placed 18th in the shot put at 36-01.50 and Aarush Patel 34th at 24-07. Aiden Mizelle placed 10th in the discus at 122-05 and Clayton Greiner 22nd at 102-02.
