Two Jefferson County high schools are gearing up for their annual prom celebrations this weekend on Saturday, April 11th, with Fairfield and Pekin both hosting events for their students.
Fairfield High School Prom
Fairfield High School’s prom weekend kicks off Saturday night with a Grand March beginning at 8:00 p.m. at Fairfield High School. Students who wish to be announced should arrive by 7:45 p.m. for lineup. The Grand March is open to the public, with doors opening at 7:45 p.m. for anyone wishing to watch.
Prom will be held from 9:00 p.m. to midnight at the Fairfield Golf and Country Club, followed by After Prom from 11:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. at Fairfield Park and Recreation. Students will not be permitted entry into After Prom after 12:30 a.m. Transportation is not provided to any of the locations.
Pekin High School Prom
Pekin High School invites the community to join juniors and seniors for their Prom Grand March also on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Students will enter through the main south doors of the high school, and guests are asked to line both sides of the sidewalk in the grass and stay off the parking lot. Bleachers will be provided for guests.
Guests are asked to enter through the driveway by the daycare — the exit driveway — as students will be arriving through the main driveway. Parking is available down past the weight room near the entry to the track and football field, leaving the spaces close to the building available for students.
The gym will be open for guests to view the prom decorations on Saturday, April 11th from 5:45 to 7:20 p.m.
