Angie Hamburg, 92, of Oskaloosa, passed away on April 23, 2026, at Northern Mahaska Specialty Care.
Angie Fay Hamburg, daughter of Bernie and Pearl (Decker) Lunsford, was born on April 19, 1934, in Cantril, Iowa. She graduated from Cantril High School in 1951 and then attended Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa, where she received her teaching certificate. Angie taught school until she married, and after marriage, she was a homemaker. She married Dale F. Hamburg on May 20, 1954, at Cantril Christian Church.
Angie has lived in the Ottumwa and Fremont area since after her marriage. She was a member of Fremont Community Church and a part of the United Methodist Women. Angie enjoyed volunteering and serving food for the Lions’ meals in Fremont. Angie also enjoyed babysitting for various neighbors’ children and loved spending time with her granddaughter. Angie loved reading and following high school sports. She was an avid fan of the Hawkeyes and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Angie is survived by her son, John, and his wife, Renee Hamburg of Ankeny; her daughter, Linda, and her husband, Dennis Eriksen, of Grimes, Iowa; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Hamburg; her siblings: Dean Lunsford of Illinois; Sue Gough of Iowa City; Merilee Gaskell of Olathe, Kansas; and Mickey Radabaugh of Hamilton, Missouri.
Angie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dale; her siblings: Laura Thomas and Frank Lunsford; and her half siblings: Arlie Wheaton and Ana McSwain.
Graveside services for Angie will be held on Monday, April 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Township Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, Iowa, with Jac Munson from Central Church officiating. Memorials may be made to Care Initiatives Hospice.
