Roy Eugene Jessop, 68, of Ottumwa died at 4:30 p.m. February 21, 2026 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
He was born August 31, 1957 in Hedrick to Raymond and Betty Lasley Jessop. He married Margaret Moffatt on November 1, 1975.
A 1977 graduate of Ottumwa High School, he had worked at Dexter in Fairfield, Clow Valve in Oskaloosa, Cargill in Eddyville and Excel in Ottumwa.
Roy did volunteer work for the Salvation Army in Ottumwa. He loved fishing, hunting and most of all, spending time with his family.
Surviving his is wife, Margaret of Ottumwa; a daughter, Misty Rachford of Ottumwa; a son, Dan Jessop of Ottumwa; two grandchildren, Ryan and Adeline Rachford; two sisters, Teresa Wilkerson and Mary Evans both of Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; a son-in-law, Jeff Rachford; and a sister, Darlene Purvis.
His body has been cremated. A time to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
