Oskaloosa Woman Arrested After Allegedly Stabbing Man Outside Mahaska County Residence

Neighbors in Keomah Village were shaken Friday evening when a stabbing outside a residence led to the arrest of a local woman.

On February 15th, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Department responded to a reported stabbing in the 300 block of Keomah Village.

Upon arrival, deputies found 48-year-old Jessica Hutchinson of Oskaloosa sitting on the porch steps outside the residence. Court documents indicate that the victim had sustained a stab wound to his lower right leg.

Witnesses at the scene identified Hutchinson as the person who had stabbed the victim. According to reports, Hutchinson admitted to using a folding pocket knife during the incident while seated on a chair on the porch.

Hutchinson was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Mahaska County Jail on a $2,000 cash/surety bond. She is charged with assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 25th.
