Mahaska Health recently celebrated the retirement of Kim Langfitt, who dedicated over 30 years to the organization.

Kim Langfitt began working at Mahaska Health in 1993 and most recently served as Volunteer Coordinator, a role she held since 2014. During her time as Volunteer Coordinator, Kim helped support and grow one of the region’s strongest hospital volunteer teams, with more than 70 active volunteers at the time of her retirement.

Mahaska Health honored Kim at a retirement celebration earlier this month, joined by volunteers, colleagues, and community members who gathered to thank her for her years of service. The event reflected the strong relationships Kim built and the impact she made across
the organization.

“Mahaska Health will always have my heart,” Kim Langfitt shared. “It’s a great place to work with people who truly care about the community.”

As she enters retirement, Kim looks forward to spending more time with her great-grandchild, enjoying day trips, and embracing a well-earned slower pace of life. She also expressed confidence in the future of the volunteer team under new leadership.

Mahaska Health extends its gratitude to Kim Langfitt for her three decades of compassion, dedication, and service to Mahaska Health patients, volunteers, and community.

Community members interested in volunteering at Mahaska Health are encouraged to contact Amanda Doud, Mahaska Health Foundation Director, at 641-676-7420 or learn more by visiting mahaskahealth.org.
