Iowa National Guard Updates Welcome Home Ceremony Arrival Times for Soldiers Returning from Operation Inherent Resolve

The Iowa National Guard has announced updated arrival times for Welcome Home ceremonies honoring approximately 250 Soldiers
assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division returning from deployment in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
These updated times are due solely to flight availability. All locations remain unchanged.


These Soldiers are returning following successful mission completion overseas, where they worked alongside coalition and regional partners to significantly reduce the capabilities of ISIS in Iraq and Syria, helping improve regional security. Welcome Home ceremonies will take place on Wednesday, February 11, in both Sioux City and Des Moines, providing families, friends, and community members the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the Soldiers’ service.


Des Moines Welcome Home Ceremonies (UPDATED TIMES) Due to flight availability bringing Soldiers home, there will be two arrival times
and corresponding ceremonies in Des Moines.

 Access: Due to security requirements, MEDIA RSVP is required in advance
for entry.
Sioux City Welcome Home Ceremony (NO CHANGE)
 Location: Ascension FBO Network
 Address: 5701 Al Haynes Dr, Sioux City, IA 51111
 Date/Time: Wednesday, February 11 at 1:45 p.m.


These ceremonies mark an important moment for Iowa communities to welcome home Soldiers who have served overseas in support of national security objectives.


Phased redeployments are based on mission needs and transportation availability.
