The Wapello County Sheriff’s Office says a construction worker was seriously injured in an accident on Highway 34 on Monday afternoon.
According to the sheriff’s office, authorities responded to the 24000 block of the highway at 3:55 PM. It was later determined that a worker was struck by a vehicle.
The extent of the victim’s injuries were not known and he was airlifted to MercyOne. His current status is unkown.
Officials say the names of the driver and victims are being withheld pending notification and more information will be released at a later time.
