A Wheatland woman was taken into custody on Saturday, January 3, 2026, following the issuance of several outstanding arrest warrants. She now faces multiple felony charges, including ongoing criminal conduct, first- and second-degree theft, and fraudulent submission of documents.

According to authorities, the charges stem from her former work at a now-closed insurance agency in Wheatland. Investigators allege she used her position to divert company funds for personal expenses, including numerous retail purchases and even a down payment on her own vehicle.

In addition to the theft allegations, prosecutors say she submitted falsified documents related to an insurance claim. The paperwork claimed that certain restoration services had been completed for a client, but the services were never actually provided. The business listed as providing the work was reportedly one in which she had a financial stake, resulting in a financial loss for the insurance company.

Law enforcement agencies involved in the case include the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau and the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is ongoing, and additional details may emerge as the case moves through the legal system.
