An Ottumwa woman was arrested after authorities say she entered another person’s property and stole the keys to a truck.
Lacey Mills, 41, was charged with third-degree burglary – motor vehicle, an aggravated misdemeanor.
On April 4th at 3:35 PM, court records say Mills went onto a property located on Harvey Street in Ottumwa without permission. According to police, Mills then entered a truck and took the keys.
Court documents state that Mills fled the scene on foot and was later located and arrested. Police say Mills had the stolen keys in her possession when she was apprehended. Mills previously trespassed on the same property in March, according to the criminal complaint.
Mills is currently lodged in the Wapello County Jail. Her bond is set at $2,000.
Mills has been ordered not to have any contact with the property owners.
