As the holiday season approaches, UScellular, now part of T-Mobile, is continuing its tradition of giving back to local communities. The company recently donated six new performance risers, valued at $1,500, to the Ottumwa Area Community Chorus. The presentation took place Sunday at First Presbyterian Church.
The donation comes as a welcome upgrade for the chorus, whose previous risers were narrow and unstable, posing challenges for older members. The new equipment will make rehearsals and performances safer and more comfortable, allowing the chorus to better showcase their talents during upcoming holiday concerts with the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra.
The Ottumwa Area Community Chorus is a nonprofit group that provides both adults and children opportunities to engage with music and participate in community performances. Leaders of the organization expressed gratitude for the contribution, noting that the new risers will enhance both their practice sessions and stage presentations.
This gift is part of a broader initiative by UScellular, which is donating to more than 50 nonprofits across the country this season. In addition, the company is inviting local communities to participate in holiday giving, with all UScellular stores collecting items for area nonprofits.
