A University Park resident faces multiple pending charges for sex offender registry and probation violations, stemming from prior sexual assault and domestic abuse convictions, and remains out on bond with upcoming court hearings.
University Park resident Brett Little, 44, has been arrested multiple times on sex offender registration and probation violation charges. According to court records, Little was first arrested by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department on July 17 on a warrant from Mahaska County for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements. He was taken to Mahaska County Jail and later released on bond.
Little was arrested again in Mahaska County on August 6 for another sex offender registry violation, a Class D felony, and was released on bond. Two days later, on August 8, a warrant was issued out of Hennepin County, Minnesota, alleging probation violations including failure to register as a predatory offender, failure to pay restitution, and failure to remain law-abiding. These violations stem from a February 2024 felony sexual assault conviction.
On August 12, a warrant was issued out of Keokuk County for additional probation violations linked to a January 2025 sex offender registry violation conviction in Iowa. He was released on bond. Two other sex offender registry charges in Mahaska County were dismissed as part of a plea agreement in the original case.
On September 8, Little was again charged in Mahaska County with a subsequent sex offender registry violation. He was arrested and bonded out and remains free pending multiple court hearings in Mahaska County, Keokuk County, and Hennepin County, Minnesota.
Little previously pleaded guilty in June 2021 to domestic abuse causing injury in Wapello County, as well as a related violation of a no-contact order in Mahaska County. He is currently free on a $5,000 cash bond, and a pretrial conference in Mahaska County is scheduled for January 5,2026.
