The recall, issued December 3, 2025, affects approximately 300 cases of the product.

The company states that no illnesses or injuries have been reported, but dogs of any size could experience adverse reactions if they ingest plastic. Symptoms may include vomiting, reduced appetite, lethargy, or signs of stomach discomfort. In more serious cases, consuming plastic can lead to gastrointestinal issues or even intestinal blockage. Pet owners who notice any of these symptoms after their dog has eaten the affected food are encouraged to contact their veterinarian immediately.

The recalled product was distributed through regional neighborhood pet stores across several U.S. states, including Illinois, Wisconsin, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Louisiana, California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. It was also shipped to Ontario, Canada. The impacted item is sold in 16-ounce chubs and carries a Best By date of December 25, 2026, with lot code B01.

Fromm Family Foods reports that the issue was discovered after receiving customer complaints. The company has since identified the source of the contamination and implemented additional safety measures to prevent future incidents. No other Fromm products are affected by this recall.

Consumers who purchased the Bonnihill BeefiBowls Beef Recipe with the listed Best By date should stop feeding it to their pets and return it to the retailer for a refund.
