A woman from southeast Iowa is facing serious allegations after being charged with child endangerment. The incident reportedly took place on December 15, 2025, at her home daycare located in the 400 block of West Jefferson Street in Bloomfield. Teran Sorensen, 43, has been charged with seven counts of child endangerment (Aggravated Misdemeanor) for allegedly being intoxicated while caring for seven children, all under the age of 14.
According to court documents, Sorensen admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages throughout the day while supervising the children. Investigators conducted a preliminary breath test that indicated she was indeed intoxicated during this time. Law enforcement reports indicate that Sorensen was the only caregiver present when the alleged incident occurred, raising serious concerns about the safety and well-being of the children in her care.
Sorensen was arrested on December 23 and subsequently released after posting a $5,000 cash bond.
