Marion County Authorities Charge Offender with Registry Violation

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a registered sex offender following an investigation into false information provided during a routine registry update.

On October 22, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a Probation and Parole Officer regarding an ongoing investigation involving Stacia Pope, 28, of Indianola. Police Avadavat record Pope is a known registered sex offender.

Law enforcement was notified that Pope had failed to report a residential address in Knoxville where she had allegedly been staying for approximately six months.

On October 29, Pope was questioned in person at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office while updating her sex offender registry. According to court documents, Pope omitted the Knoxville address where she had reportedly stayed four to five nights per week since April or May of 2025.

During the interview, deputies informed Pope that they were aware she had been residing at an unreported location. Court records indicate that Pope admitted to staying at the unregistered address and also confessed to failing to list several required internet identifiers.

A warrant for Pope’s arrest was issued on November 10. She was taken into custody and is currently being held in the Marion County Jail. Pope is charged with Sex Offender—Providing False Information, 1st Offense.
