By now, many of you have likely seen or heard the news that Honey Creek Resort has temporarily closed following the conclusion of the concessionaire contract. We want you to know that PACT is actively engaged and doing everything we can to help individuals, groups, and businesses through this transition.
Honey Creek Resort has long been a cornerstone of Appanoose County’s tourism economy — one that directly supports our local businesses, from restaurants and retailers to service providers and event venues. We know this change impacts many of you, and we’re here to help however we can.
Here’s how PACT is responding:
- Guests: We’re assisting transient guests in rebooking their stays with other lodging providers throughout Appanoose County.
- Events: We’re working with meeting planners and social events such as weddings to relocate to local venues.
- Employees: We’re connecting furloughed resort employees with available positions across the county.
We’re also asking for your help:
- If you’re contacted by anyone needing assistance or you need assistance, rebooking an event or stay, please let us know so we can help coordinate.
- If you’re hiring, remember that PACT members receive free job postings on our community job board — please take a few minutes to list any available openings so we can direct affected employees to those opportunities. Now more than ever, it’s important that we rally together — to shop small, support our neighbors, and work collectively to strengthen Appanoose County’s economy and community spirit.
