Fairfield’s football team will kick off their season on Friday, August 29th traveling to Benton Community, a former district opponent. Fairfield is looking to avenge a 29-14 loss to Benton last season.
Pekin will be on the road facing the Mustangs of Davis County. They last played back in 2019 when Pekin defeated Davis County 42-14.
Don’t forget to also support the marching bands during their performances as well for both teams!
Fairfield volleyball will start with the Steven Heisel Volleyball Meet with WACO and EBF on Thursday, August 28th in Fairfield. Last year, Fairfield won against WACO 2-0 and lost to EBF 0-2 in this tournament. Fairfield played against both of these teams later in the season and the same result happened in each matchup.
Pekin starts their volleyball season at the start of the week on Monday, August 25th in a competitive tournament at WACO. Shan Moquin and A.J. Roe will also be in attendance on the Ottumwa Radio Sports Network covering the Van Buren County Warriors. Burlington Notre Dame, Centerville, Louisa-Muscatine, Sigourney, and Columbus will also be in attendance with Pekin, WACO, and Van Buren County. Pekin started at WACO last season at this same tournament and went 2-1 on the day defeating Centerville and WACO and falling to Van Buren County.
Also on August 25th, Fairfield and Pekin cross country teams will begin running in Knoxville against PCM, EBF, and host Knoxville at Pine Knolls Golf Club for the Knoxville Early Bird Invitational.
