The Pekin Cross Country teams traveled to Solon on Monday, September 22nd, to compete in the Solon Invitational, facing strong competition from highly-ranked teams across multiple classifications.
Girls Team Shines with 7th Place Finish
The Pekin girls cross country team delivered a solid performance, finishing 7th out of nine teams with 167 points. The Panthers were led by senior standout Chloe Glosser, who captured second place in the individual standings.
Glosser’s runner-up finish marked her second consecutive race placing second, demonstrating remarkable consistency at the top level. She was narrowly defeated by Evelyn Moeller of Mount Vernon-Lisbon, who is currently ranked seventh in Class 3A.
The meet was dominated by highly-ranked teams, with Mount Vernon-Lisbon (#3 in 3A) taking the team title, followed by host Solon (#5 in 3A) in second and Williamsburg (#15 in 3A) rounding out the top three.

Boys Team Battles in Tough Field
The Pekin boys cross country team, ranked 15th in Class 1A, faced a challenging field and finished 11th out of 13 teams with 223 points. Cole Millikin led the Panthers with a strong 12th place individual finish.
Lane Fariss followed with a 20th place showing, while Mason Dahlstrom rounded out Pekin’s top three with a 31st place finish. The boys team raced against several highly-ranked squads, including meet winner Mount Vernon-Lisbon (#3 in 3A) and runner-up Tipton (#12 in 2A).
