The Fairfield Loop Trail has a fresh look thanks to newly installed maps created through a project led by the Jefferson County Trails Council. Supported by community donors and made possible with sponsorship from Jefferson County Health Center, the maps highlight both familiar routes and the latest additions to the trail system.

The updated maps were designed to showcase natural features and amenities with the goal of attracting not only local users but also visitors from outside the community. One highlight is the newly updated natural playscape at Lamson Woods, which now includes a zipline glider.

Volunteers spent last weekend installing the new maps at kiosk trailheads around the 16-mile loop. In addition, pamphlet maps have been stocked at kiosks for trail users to take with them.

The project was made possible with the design expertise of Kevin Riley from Riley Designs, and with the hands-on efforts of volunteers including Steve Pedrick, Frank and Henry Broz, and Stephanie Wharton.

The Loop Trail itself is maintained through a shared partnership between Jefferson County Conservation and the City of Fairfield, ensuring it remains safe and accessible year-round.

With the new maps in place, trail organizers encourage residents and visitors alike to explore the loop, discover new features, and enjoy everything the Fairfield trail system has to offer.
