A Fairfield man faces criminal charges after allegedly threatening to kill a woman during a dispute over a dog early Friday morning.
Joshua James Summers, 39, of Fairfield, was charged with Harassment in the First Degree, an aggravated misdemeanor, following an incident that occurred around 1:04 a.m. on October 24th.
According to court documents, the victim contacted Fairfield Police to report that Summers had come to her residence, accusing her of stealing his dog. While the victim was on the phone with dispatch, the defendant could allegedly be heard threatening to kill her and banging on her door. These threats are audible on the 911 recording.
The victim allegedly explained that the dog had followed her home and told Summers she intended to let the animal out through another door. Summers then left the area on foot and returned to his residence.
Officers later made contact with Summers at his home, where he denied making any threats toward the victim.
A no contact order has been requested in this case. Summers is being held on a $1,000 cash or surety bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 3rd.
