The Fairfield Education Foundation has awarded $50,297.14 in grants to educators and staff throughout the Fairfield Community School District, supporting a wide range of educational and extracurricular initiatives.
The funded grants will provide resources including additional curriculum materials, equipment for shop classes, sensory tools, and musical instruments for elementary students. This year’s grant cycle saw unprecedented demand, with 52 applications requesting a total of $155,132.85—nearly quadruple the number of requests submitted in 2023.
Among the distinctive projects receiving funding this year are materials to launch a school-based coffee shop designed to teach students workplace skills while serving the high school community, updated furnishings for the Pence Library and staff lounge, and wireless microphone systems for the high school auditorium.
Established in 1997, the Fairfield Education Foundation works to expand learning opportunities, support innovative educational initiatives, advance technology integration, and strengthen community engagement with local schools. The organization reviews teacher grant applications each fall, using interest earned from its endowment to fund approved projects.
Beyond teacher grants, the Foundation provides four scholarships to graduating seniors annually, including one renewable four-year scholarship.
