The Fairfield High School dance and drill team showcased its talent at the Iowa State Dance Solo Contest on Thursday, October 23rd, with all six Trojan soloists earning Division I ratings in a competitive field.

Lexi Megrath, Hannah Giberson, Sarayu Tejada, Addison Qualters, Teagan Gilchrist, and Leigh Ensminger represented Fairfield at the contest held at Newton High School, each performing at the highest level against 72 other soloists from across Iowa.

Head Coach Heidi Bowman expressed pride in her team’s accomplishments against strong statewide competition.

“I am very proud of these girls who competed against 72 other soloists in Iowa,” Bowman said.

The success comes as the team prepares for its next major challenge—the Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Competition scheduled for December 5, 2025. Fairfield will compete with both a pom routine and a contemporary routine at the state team event.

The Division I ratings reflect the significant commitment the Trojan dancers have made to their craft. Bowman noted the extensive preparation her team has undertaken.

“These girls put in a lot of hours of hard work. We have practices Monday through Friday at 6 A.M. for our state competition and halftime performances for FHS basketball season,” she said.

Congratulations to all six soloists on their outstanding achievements at the state level.
