An individual was arrested on October 25 in Ottumwa for public intoxication and interference with official acts after fleeing a disturbance and refusing a breath test.
The Ottumwa Police Department responded to a disturbance reported in the 500 block of Camille Street. Upon their arrival, officers observed Bradley Perell, a resident of Missouri, fleeing the scene on foot. Officers detained Perell and noted several signs of intoxication, including watery, bloodshot eyes, fluctuating emotions, droopy eyelids, and the odor of an alcoholic beverage.
Perell was offered a Datamaster breath test, which he refused. As a result, he was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication and interference with official acts, both classified as simple misdemeanors.
Court documents indicate that Perell pleaded guilty to all charges and waived his preliminary hearing. Perell was being detained in the Wapello County Jail. He was released after paying a $300.00 bond.
