Dolores Ellen Bunjer, 92, of Ankeny, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 8:50 a.m. September 13, 2025 at Sunny View Care Center.
She was born December 10, 1932 in Drakesville to Everett Mark and Francis Fouts Wilcox. Dolores married Virgil G. Bunjer June 22, 1954 and he preceded her in death September 2, 2022.
Dolores had been a member of North Court Baptist Church. She served alongside her husband in church planting and camp work in Germany for 40 years.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing and loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Charles) Ellis of Ankeny and Karin Nelson of Broad Run, VA; a son, Jeffrey (Alice) Bunjer of Ankeny; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law Gladys Wilcox of Ottumwa, Marlene Hanssen of Ankeny.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Wendell and Frances Wilcox; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Wilcox.
Visitation will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, September 19th at Reece Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, September 20th at North Court Baptist Church with Pastor Nate Pelletier and Pastor Roger Hemmings officiating. Family will be present one hour prior to the service to greet friends at the church. Burial will be in Drakesville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Bible College.
