Mary M. Edgington passed away Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Timber Ridge Assisted Living in Ottumwa.
Mary was born in Moulton to Carl and Charity Campbell Stansberry on October 15, 1932. Mary moved with her parents to Ottumwa in early 1942, her father passed away shortly after moving to Ottumwa.
Mary married C. Dale Edgington August 21, 1948. To this marriage, daughter Judith, sons Roger, Steven, and Kevin were born. Dale preceded her in death on December 2, 1990, her daughter Judith Stout passed on October 9, 2021.
Mary worked for Ridgewood Care Center for 17 years as a CNA. She enjoyed working with and helping the residents of the center. Prior to working at Ridgewood Care she worked for SIDA as a home care aid.
Surviving are her 3 sons, Roger, Steve and Kevin; 9 grandchildren, Ellyn, Eric, Chris, Brian, Brad, Michael, Ashley, Justin and Jennifer; and 11 great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Lloyd, Sparry, Cleo, Robert, sister Arzella (Betty) Wilke and daughters-in-law, Cindy and Teresa.
Visitation will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 1st at Reece Funeral Home with her family present to greet friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, November 2nd at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Bick officiating. Burial will be at Shaul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Heartland Humane Society.
