With a spirit as bright and beautiful as the Christmas day she was born on, Tina Christine Mefford, left us on July 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, nurturing, and an appreciation for the small and beautiful things in life. Born in Syracuse, New York, in 1965, Tina spent most of her life in Blakesburg, Iowa, where she created a home filled with warmth, love, and an eclectic collection of wicker and knick-knacks that spoke of her unique taste and charming personality.
A homemaker by profession, Tina’s true calling was being a mother and grandmother, roles she cherished with all her heart. Her home was a sanctuary where family and animals were loved unconditionally, and every corner held memories of laughter, shared meals, and countless video game sessions. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing ways, each plant tended with as much love as she showered on her family.
Her love story with her beloved husband, Tim Mefford, was one for the ages, a story that began on Valentine’s Day in 1986, and continued to be written every day until her departure. She is survived by husband, Tim of Blakesburg; son, Thomas (Tandra) Tysdal, son Jason (Amber) Nicholson, Todd Nicholson; one daughter; many grandchildren; a half brother, Jamie Lang. She was preceded in death by her mother; one brother and one sister.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2024 at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. Visitation will be from 4-6 also on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Tina’s life was a celebration of love, family, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. She leaves behind a home filled with memories and a family who will forever cherish her love and spirit.
