Rincon Broadcasting Group is making waves in regional media with the official announcement of its newest acquisitions—five television stations spanning Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri. The deal, finalized on July 9, 2025, marks a bold move for the privately held media company as it deepens its investment in local broadcasting.

The stations now under Rincon’s wing include WVTV (CW, MNT) in Milwaukee; WICD and WICS (both ABC affiliates) serving the Champaign-Springfield-Decatur area in Illinois; KHQA (CBS, ABC) in the tri-state region of Quincy, Hannibal, and Keokuk; and KTVO (ABC, CBS) in Ottumwa and Kirksville.

For viewers in these communities, the change won’t interrupt familiar programming or trusted local coverage. In fact, Rincon plans to continue supporting GOCOM Media’s station operations behind the scenes—helping ensure a smooth transition for staff and audiences alike.

Rincon’s arrival brings more than just new ownership. It signals a renewed focus on regional broadcast that blends traditional news delivery with next-generation tools. The company, led by media veteran Todd Parkin, is known for seeking out mid-market stations with strong local ties and untapped growth potential.

Parkin’s background in television, production, and live sports gives Rincon a unique perspective as it looks to modernize legacy stations without losing their community roots.

For the cities these stations serve, the acquisition represents more than a business transaction—it’s a fresh chapter. And for Rincon, it’s a step forward in its mission to revitalize local broadcast, one community at a time.

Welcome to the Midwest, Rincon.
