Lillian “Lil” Mae Park, 80, of Ottumwa died at 6:38 p.m. July 11, 2025 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
She was born March 10, 1945 in Ottumwa to James and Esther “Bunny” Carter Shepherd. She married David Park on February 19, 1965.
Lillian was a 1963 graduate of Ottumwa High School and had worked at Hardee’s for 13 years.
She enjoyed bowling, casinos, gardening and most of all, spending time with her family.
Surviving is her husband, David of Ottumwa; two daughters, Staci Flinn of Blakesburg and Nicky (Mike) Tarrence of Ottumwa; a son, David (Terri) Park of Ottumwa; 7 grandchildren, Treyton (Madison) Damerval, Sydney (Hunter) McCoy, Chaz (Jordan) Flinn, Kody Flinn, Cole Maines (Megan Jackman), Emily Park and Ashley Park; 5 great grandchildren, Paige, Owen, Finlee, Cohen and Nora; 2 sisters, Mildred “Sook” Rupe of Ottumwa and Sandy Kay (George) Van Alst of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, George, John and Jim Shepherd; a sister, Bonnie Randall; 2 brothers-in-law, Raymond Rupe and Jim Randall; and 2 sisters-in-law, Judy Shepherd and Betty Park.
Visitation will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 16th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Agency Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Lord’s Cupboard or to Heartland Humane Society.
