Jaimee Lynn Smith, 37, of Ottumwa, died at 6:00 a.m. July 30, 2025 at her residence and joined her guardian Angel, grandma Emma in Heaven.
She was born February 4, 1988 in Ottumwa, the daughter of Rick L. and Barbara Jean Hughs Smith.
A 2007 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Jaimee worked in childcare at the Ottumwa YMCA, at McDonalds, Herbergers, Applebees and Pizza Ranch.
She was her parents’ world. Jaimee enjoyed fishing with her dad and gaming with her friends.
Surviving are her parents, Rick and Barb Smith of Ottumwa; a brother, Nathan Smith; close friend, Justin; close friend, Shawna and her daughter, Emma.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Martha Smith and Carl and Emma Hughs.
Her body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
