Richard Deane Eilander, 75, of Newton, Iowa-who spent most of his life in Monroe-passed away on May 31, 2025, surrounded by family and love. Rich’s family will greet friends for visitation on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, at the Monroe United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held the following day, Wednesday, June 4, at the church starting at 10:00 AM. Per Rich’s style, dress casual! In lieu of flowers please make memorials out to Rich’s wife Patty for final expenses. If you wish to send flowers, the family encourages a plant that Patty can add to her yard in Rich’s memory. If you cannot attend and wish to send a card, please make it out to, “Attn: Rich Eilander, Coburn Funeral Homes, 24 W Howard St, Colfax, IA 50054.”

Rich was the devoted husband of Patty Eilander, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage, and a proud father to Chad Eilander, Clint (Billie) Eilander, Kristi (John) Carter, and Bret (Wendy) Eilander. He was a cherished grandfather to Jessica (Jared) Gilbert, Dakota (Madilynn) Eilander, Alyssa Eilander and Scott VanDusseldorp, Justine Eilander and Michael Johnson, Taylor Eilander, Connor Eilander, and Carson Eilander, and a beloved great-grandfather to Lili Gilbert and Jack Gilbert. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Mary Noring and Ed (Tonda) Eilander.

Rich was preceded in death by his father Hank Eilander, his mother Marjorie (Jim) Holmes, his Daughter-in-law Missy Eilander, his brother-in-law Lowell Noring and his nephew Eric Eilander.

A hardworking man through and through, Rich dedicated his life to the concrete trade. He took immense pride in owning and operating Rich and Sons Construction, a business he built alongside his sons. For Rich, work wasn’t just a job-it was a legacy, and a way to provide and stay close to the people he loved most.

Rich had a passion for lifting weights, staying strong, and showing up-day in and day out-not just at work, but in every role he played. Perhaps most of all, he found joy and purpose in standing behind the woman he adored. He was his wife Patty’s greatest supporter, proudly backing her music career in every way. When it came to her dreams, money was never an objection-Rich gave freely, believing in her talent with his whole heart.

He will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and unwavering love for his family. His presence was powerful, his support constant, and his love immeasurable.

Rich will be deeply missed and forever loved.
