Oskaloosa Main Street has selected Salvaged Designs, owned by Jen Thomas Maxwell, as its 2025 Open 4 Business grant competition winner. The business will receive a $500 local award from the Economic Vitality Committee in recognition of its compelling application and strong potential for continued growth.
Located in the heart of Downtown Oskaloosa, Salvaged Designs has become a well-loved destination for vintage treasures, reimagined furniture, and curated home décor. Owner Jen Thomas Maxwell has built a devoted customer base through her creative vision and commitment to sustainable design.
Although Salvaged Designs was not chosen by Main Street Iowa to advance to the statewide competition, Oskaloosa Main Street remains committed to celebrating and supporting local entrepreneurs like Maxwell.
The Open 4 Business grant program, administered by Main Street Iowa in partnership with the Iowa Economic Development Authority, is designed to support business expansion and innovation in Main Street communities across the state. Each designated Main Street community may submit one business to compete at the state level for grant funding of up to $28,000.
